Clay Crosby, MFT

I believe that each of us has the innate ability and desire to lead a fulfilling life and have satisfying relationships.

I have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004. I have extensive experience working with relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, depression, challenging life transitions (international move, career change, bereavement, loss of relationship, etc.) and the challenges of creative careers. Many of my clients work in the fields of film, theater, opera, music, literature and visual arts. I see California clients online and offer individual therapy and couple counseling to English-speaking clients in my new home of Frankfurt, Germany.

I seek to provide clients a safe, non-judgmental place to express and explore their challenges, and help them to rediscover their talents, strengths and resources. My goal is to create collaborative partnerships that enable clients to move away from self-blame and judgment and help them to find solutions that are consistent with their values and beliefs.

I enjoy working with clients who are ready to make a commitment to personal growth and a deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess trauma and my work is guided by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Mindful Awareness Practices. I also have a particular interest in providing support to clients with ME/CFS and Long Covid and their caregivers.

I have experience working with people who are dealing with a variety of issues including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief / Loss
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Anger
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Isolation/Loneliness
  • Parenting Issues
  • Addictions
  • Childhood Abuse
  • Relationship Difficulties (both at home and in the workplace)
  • Challenges associated with Expat Life
  • ME/CFS and Long COVID

In addition, a great deal of my practice focuses on the following areas of specialization:
